Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice plums in half, remove pits and cut each half into 4 wedges. Melt butter.
Step 2
Using a hand mixer on medium speed, combine flour, milk, buttermilk, eggs, sugar, 2 tbsp (30 mL) melted butter, vanilla and salt. Mix until batter is completely smooth, 45 to 60 seconds. Let rest.
Step 3
Pour remaining 2 tbsp (30 mL) melted butter in a 10-inch (25 cm) ceramic or earthenware tart or pie pan, swirl pan to coat evenly. Scatter plums in pan and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake until sugar has melted, 5 to 7 min.
Step 4
Stir batter and pour evenly over plums. Bake until puffed, set and golden brown around the edges, 40min. Let cool for 10 min; dust with icing sugar and serve.
